
Funding to enable the helpers of abused young children has been introduced by the provincial govt.

Many thanks to a $133,900 Resilient Communities Fund grant awarded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), the Boy or girl and Youth Advocacy Centre Simcoe Muskoka (CYAC) has expanded its program to include a new partnership with New Path Youth and Family members Expert services to produce remote entry to help for child and youth victims of abuse throughout the Simcoe Muskoka.

MPPs Jill Dunlop, Doug Downey and Andrea Khanjin achieved with CYAC and New Path for the announcement on Friday.

“The funding has allowed them to keep on delivering essential expert services and present a spot of belonging and compassion for kids who have knowledgeable unfathomable situations and their route to healing and recovery,” claimed Dunlop, MPP Simcoe North.

The announcement also highlighted the Trillium Fund’s support of trauma-knowledgeable, bridge aid products and services for families whose small children and/or youth have witnessed or knowledgeable actual physical abuse, sexual abuse, on line exploitation, neglect, intimate companion violence, or human trafficking.

Dawn MacDonald, executive director of CYAC reported, “trauma-informed” assist implies not re-traumatizing the boy or girl yet again by many outings to police stations to be interviewed in a sterile setting by uniformed officers.
